I don't generally post personal entries in this blog but, since today was so unusual, I'm making an exception.

This morning, at about 1 o'clock, it felt as though the house was wobbling. It was an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, the strongest in the country since 1984. Of course that'ss pretty insignificant compared to earthquakes in other parts of the world; but it is exceptional for this country, so naturally it was the first item on today's news...
